‘Love triangle’ killing in Du Noon

Three people, two women and a man, were shot dead on Wednesday in what is believed to have been a love triangle. The shooting occurred in a one-roomed shack in Du Noon’s Bekala informal settlement and residents said they heard the shots but did not see anyone flee the scene.Andile Peter, chairperson of Du Noon Community Policing Forum, said residents believed the killing was a result of a love triangle.

Peter said police cordoned off the entire area surrounding the one roomed shack, combing for clues as about 50 residents gathered behind the police tape.

Milnerton Police spokesperson Daphne Dell confirmed that the shooting occurred between 8 and 9am and of the two women killed, one was 24-years-old while the other woman’s age was unknown.

The man was 32-years-old, she said.

Dell could not provide details of the shooting other than to say detectives were investigating and the motive was not known.

The killing came days after a 16-year-old girl was raped and then stabbed to death in Du Noon on Saturday night.
